SAVE THE AYIOS KENDEAS CATS - FAMAGUSTA
We have recently been informed that at the Agios Kendeas (Saint Kendeas) Monastery in the Famagusta district has about 60 cats. Volunteers have managed to spay/neuter about 30 of them and we will assist to do the rest.
Unfortunately, people keep dumping kittens at the monastery and their numbers rising which makes it extremely difficult for the nuns to feed so many.
Two volunteers go once a week on different dates and take food but this is not enough and the result is that the younger cats and kittens cannot compete for food with the older ones. They are starving and dying off.
We appeal to the public to visit the monastery and leave food for the cats with the nuns or food can be dropped off at the Argos Charity Shop in Paralimnin contact tel. No. 99-115881.
