17.04.2008 - Two black short legged beagle/basset type dogs
I noticed a lovely black beagle/basset type dog when I was cycling on the Agia Napa - Potomos path last night (16.04.2008) and again this morning when it barked to me for attention.
It seems in relatively good health, if a little thirsty and also appears to have a similar friend/mate who was more timid, but looked well cared for so I wondered if anyone has lost a pair of dogs?
They are on the Thekla side, but very close to the access road to the river from the motorway access road in the first set of bushes on the Potomos end of the cycle path. (Before you meet Agia Napa Airways!)
I realise that they may be strays, live in the area and spend their days there, etc. But just in case someone has lost them, they are lovely dogs so I thought I'd better notify here.
Unfortunately, I can't take them in temporarily as I have a large GSD who does not take well to new dogs!

Life Savers
20.04.08 - Having spent another few days by a busy roadside, I thought that my efforts to feed and water these two black beauties (given the familar of '(Mr) Beef' and 'Lulla'), needed to be formalised.
Having been given great information from Argos, I tried to get them a stay at a Sanctuary somewhere.
Unfortunately BFAWS http://cyprus.angloinfo.com/information/10/animals.asp were already full, but sympathetic to their plight, and gave me the number for 'PAWS for Thought' (though they are in fact a working kennels and not a sanctuary) http://cyprus.angloinfo.com/search/afsearch.asp?q=PAWS+for+Thought&r1=. They are located (the scale and beauty of which has to be seen to be believed) at Kelia (village) Farm Dog Training School and have most graciously temporarily taken them both in until arrangements can be found elsewhere.
Obvious to say therefore, they will need a home if their owners don't come forward!
If you can help please, please contact PAWS for Thought urgently on 99 793 562.
